A Portrait of Southern Writers
Louis Rubin, Jr commissioned portraits of the twenty eight founding members The Fellowship of Southern Writers. It was suggested to expand the project into a book and a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship helped make that possible. It concluded with the publication of “A Portrait of Southern Writers" and a traveling exhibition with support from the National Endowment of the Humanities, National Endowment of the Arts and the U.S. Information Agency among others.
The portraits were made with a Toyo M 8X10 view camera on Tri-X Film and a Nikkor-Apo 300mm f9 lens.
Each portrait is in a limited edition of twenty five platinum/palladium prints. Contact the artist for print sales.
